Fraser Island Continued! ...Yes we are still here !

Fraser Island update number 3! Yes we are still here but we do have a departure date now. We are leaving here on the 7th of February and are flying to Auckland, New Zealand on the 9th. We are meeting our friends Gus and Hanna there and spending the first four days rafting, caving and camping together. Carlo and I plan to rent a car after and spend 3 weeks touring both the North and South Islands. We are sure making use of our tent that w lugged over from Canada. From there we will fly to Melbourne and settle there until mid- May.(until Mom and Dad come!)

Our friends Jackie and Will (Jackie was in the wedding party) are coming to Fraser Island to volunteer with us for a week. Jackie has been texting me asking if there is anything/ anywhere she can take her boyfriend for his birthday...Oh Jackie, she doesn't know what she is in for.

Carlo gets Monday-Wednesday off next week so we are going to the mainland to De-Fraser fry ourselves. We are hoping to visit the Australia zoo and have a proper meal....heaven!

Update: Fraser Island

It was a sad day here yesterday, our British boys left Fraser Island. We are sure going to miss them and there Canadian/ married couples/ red head jokes or how they like to say " Carm were just taking the piss out of you" and in return we received a fantastic couple from Ireland.

Carlo is a working boy! He got offered a job at the resort, I mean, "resort" beside our hostel. He is helping out in the kitchen and doing ground maintenance for 4 weeks. Our boss Hana has decided to leave Trailblazers and work with her boyfriend and his Fraser Island camping company. The owner Tom offered Carlo and I the position but we couldn't accept. After talking to Mom we realized that we only have so much time to travel and we have only seen one small part of Australia. It would be a fantastic opportunity but we are starting get Fraser fever and are excited to start travelling again at the end of the month.

Carlo and I upgraded to the tents in the hostel hoping to feel a bit more comfortable....boy were we wrong, we were slapping ants and bugs all night long. We may regret giving up our old dungeon room to the new couple.

Time to go lay in the sun for awhile, I realized that for living in 30+ degree weather everyday I am looking a too pasty.
