Melbourne is going to be our new home until the middle of May when Carlo's parents arrive.
It is an incredible city, full of life, culture and fantastic eats. It is very similar to Vancouver but has more of an edge.
We were lucky enough to get a little townhouse just outside the city within the first few days of our arrival. We have two Aussie roommates, one of which actually worked on Fraser Island in the past. We had a really hard time trying to find a job, we both handed out countless resumes, but because neither of us had any Batista or waitressing experience we were overlooked. Eventually I secured a job at the main mall in Melbourne and Carlo got hired at a local car dealership detailing used cars.
We are loving Melbourne but can't wait until Mom and Dad Calocero come! It will be nice to travel up the coast and start seeing what Australia is all about (aka, beaches, surfers, beaches and beaches!)
For Easter I am going to attempt to make my first ham. We have found a church to go to in the city that seems to be very welcoming to visitors. After church we are going to go and enjoy a nice cup of coffee. we haven't had a cup since the beginning of lent. It looks to be a nice, sunny weekend, today we saw a very warm 32 degrees.
We wish everyone a very Happy Easter.
Love,
Carlo and Carmen
