The Great Ocean Road and The Outback

Hi Everyone !

Well, I finished my last day of work at the Kiosk and the next day we started our camping trip around Australia. We picked up our campervan for the next month, it is perfect, it has two beds, a kitchen and a small bathroom ( sure beats camping in the tent).

It took us three full days do the Great Ocean Road. It was a stunning drive that had no lack of scenery. The drive included the 12 Apostles, cute koalas, spectacular beaches and breathtaking views. Once we arrived in Adelaide we started to realize just how big this country really is and our plans to go to Ayers Rock went out the door.

After a few changes on itinerary we started our five day trek across Australia's outback towards Airlie Beach. It was a long five days full of driving, all I can say is "this country is GINORMOUS!"

The outback was.....the outback. Flat, desert like land, dancing with all kinds of wildlife. Sheep, emu's, porcupines and kangaroos kept this drive alive.

We finally arrived in Airley beach and I will update you on our trip down the coast in the next blog.

Cheers !

Melbourne ! part 2

Our final day in Melbourne has arrived and we are just getting packed up to leave the big city.
Mom and Dad Calocero arrived on Sunday after a grueling day of flights but they adjusted well and were on to Australia time by the next day. We spent Monday and Tuesday showing them the sights of Melbourne, I think they really enjoyed the city.

We are all hopeful that the weather changes and gets a bit warmer and dryer. We have rented a 4 berth campervan that is going to take us down the Great Ocean Road, up to Alice Springs and over to the Whit Sunday Islands.

We are both looking forward to getting out of the city and getting our travels back on.

Here are a few pictures from the last few days.

Cheers!
